Former Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill didn’t last long on the trading block.
When the team informed Hill that he could seek a trade, two teams made a call for him.
For New York Jets fans, they were never in the running to get Hill.
The Jets would lose out to AFC East rival, the Miami Dolphins.
Even after today’s trade for former Chiefs’ WR Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins still have two No. 1s next year – their own and San Francisco’s.

The team sent five draft picks to Kansas City while they got Hill in return.
While the Jets could have matched the offer, Tyreek had a lot of reasons to pick Miami over New York.
The Jets Have No Chance Of A Playoff Run
Say what you want about the Dolphins; at least they were one game away from making the playoffs two years in a row.
We can’t say the same about the Jets.
31 of the 32 NFL teams have made the playoffs at least once in the last 6 seasons.
The only team to NOT make a playoff appearance?

The team has issues on offense with no line to protect their quarterback.
Zach Wilson is also an inexperienced quarterback.
He will be in his second year with the Jets this year but looked horrible last season.
He would pass for 2,334 yards, nine touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 13 games last season.
That kind of quarterback doesn’t inspire great receivers to want to come there to play.
They also don’t have a running game to take pressure off Wilson.
Miami signed a good running back and has a better quarterback than Wilson.
They have all the pieces for a playoff run, unlike the Jets.
Hill Already Has A Home Down In Florida
Miami was the smart move for Hill because he already has a house in the state.
Probably a good time to mention that Tyreek just bought a home in Florida in 2021 and is from South Georgia.
If I had to bet, it's Miami.

Hill had the house built last year and uses the home during the offseason for him and his family.
Now he doesn’t have to worry about being far from family during the NFL season.
Having a house in Florida was also why Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady went to play for that team.
So Hill having a home in Florida gave the Dolphins the edge in the trade negations.
That was just one more thing going against the Jets in talks for a Hill trade.
No One Wants To Play In Cold Weather
Miami has some of the best weather to play in when the cold months of November and December come around.
The weather in New York is cold and miserable, with snow most of the time in games in December.
No one wants to play in bad weather, even though Hill was used to some bad weather in his days with the Chiefs.
Hill most likely is now accustomed to the weather in Miami with his time there in the offseason.
Making a transition to warm weather to cold weather could affect his play.
The Dolphins Are A Better Fit For Tyreek Hill
Hill’s trade to Miami fits best for him.
He has his home in the state, and he will be with a team building a great offense.
The Dolphins also have multiple weapons on offense, unlike the Jets.
All these things made a trade to the Dolphins a no-brainer for Hill, leaving the Jets by the wayside.
