Any fan of the Utah Jazz watching the team on Monday night was hoping for a big win.
In fact, a triumph felt downright essential for the team because things have been very rocky for the last week.

There was a time when the Jazz were the best team in the West, impressing all spectators and analysts and showing that they were far more than just a tanking team.
But a lot has changed in only one week.
The Jazz have moved from the 1st team to the 9th in just 7 days.
This comes after multiple pivotal losses that have dropped the Jazz down to a 12-11 record.
Are their chances of the playoffs all but gone or will the young squad bounce back?
Jazz’s Sad Song
Since last weekend, the Jazz have faced off against the Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Golden Stars Warriors, Phoenix Suns, and Chicago Bulls.
They’ve lost to each of them.
They defeated both the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers with impressive wins but the mounting losses have really hurt.
And the week ahead won’t be much easier.
They will be squaring off against the Clippers again, as well as the Indiana Pacers, Blazers, and Warriors.
The team still has some amazing players: Lauri Markkanen is having a breakout season while Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson, Kelly Olynyk, and others are still impressive.
But they are facing a stark reality: this is one tough league and sometimes the competition just takes some time to heat up and get good.
They started hot but they have cooled off in a huge way.
Will the Jazz start burning bright again soon?
