Jalen Hurts is no stranger to being an underdog in the NFL.
When he took over as the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback last season, some NFL analysts thought the Eagles couldn’t win many games with him.
However, he took his team to the playoffs as a Wild Card team last season.
But despite this, the doubters believed Philadelphia was trading or releasing him when 2023 came around.
Now, Hurts is in the Super Bowl, and an MVP finalist this season.
While his NFL story is amazing, his underdog story began five years ago as the quarterback of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Jalen Hurts was benched 5 years ago by Alabama in the National Championship.
He then transferred to Oklahoma as a result.
Hurts was taken in the second round of the NFL Draft and some said it was “too” high.
Now he is the youngest QB in Eagles history to reach a SB.

When he was taken out of the National Championship game in favor of Tua Tagovailoa, he took his talent to Oklahoma.
While he didn’t take the Sooners to a National Championship, he still shined in Oklahoma.
His passing numbers all saw an uptick with his new team, which shows how he was making improvements.
Despite improvements, analysts felt he wasn’t worthy of a team using a second-round pick on him.
However, his 2022-23 NFL season proves how everyone else was wrong about him.
His performance made him one of the best scorers this season, as he finished the season with 35 total touchdowns .
While he was scoring touchdowns, he was also improving his interception numbers.
With him protecting the ball in the passing game, he showed everyone how he’s progressing quickly into an elite NFL quarterback.
Now, his amazing season has him entering Super Bowl 57 as an underdog.
Despite being an underdog since his college days, the young quarterback has overcome all the obstacles in his way.
This Super Bowl is now the last obstacle of his amazing underdog story.
