The 2022/23 Jacksonville Jaguars sure left plenty of reasons to be excited about the future.
Urban Meyer’s dark and infamous tenure in charge of the team wasn’t enough to hold them back again this season, with Doug Pederson completely turning their culture around right away.
It took them a while, and they struggled to close out games and finish the job early in the season, but they were one of the hottest teams in the league in the final stretch of the campaign.
Their defense was rock-solid, and the newcomers exceeded all expectations in offense, proving they weren’t as overpaid as some of their doubters stated.
Moreover, Trevor Lawrence finally looked like the franchise quarterback we all thought he could become, leaving all those insecurities, questioning and head-scratching decisions from his rookie year in the past.
But all great things could get better, and the Jaguars have plenty of youth, some money, and play in one of the weakest divisions in the league as of now.
So, Shad Khan and the front office cannot afford to sleep on their laurels and need to bring in more highly-qualified assistants to help Doug Pederson out.
With that in mind, the Jaguars have recently hired former Nebraska and FIU Offensive Line coach Greg Austin to serve as their new Offensive Line coach.
Update: Can independently confirm the report by On3 that Greg Austin will join the Jacksonville Jaguars staff. Prior to FIU, Austin coached OL at Nebraska and UCF. https://t.co/mlzvu4fRbt

The Jaguars will only go as far as Trevor Lawrence can take them, so it makes plenty of sense for them to try and protect their most valuable asset going forward.
This promising season came to a heartbreaking end, but you better believe the Jags will be back.
