The Charlotte Hornets are currently 3-7 and have lost four games in a row.
They are sinking toward the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings because of several injuries, including a sustained one that LaMelo Ball can’t seem to shake.
Still, the team – which is one of the youngest in the NBA – has some fight in it and some promise too.
They just need to continue to nurture it, cultivate it, and turn it into something special.
Steve Clifford said he's invited Steve Nash to come to Charlotte to hang around and "spend a few days with us and kind of watch and give me his thoughts on things."

The team’s head coach, Steve Clifford, is turning to old friends to help his team get better.
He’s also reaching out to someone who has just been through a roller coaster of emotion.
Clifford recently mentioned that he invited former Brooklyn Nets coach Steve Nash to come to Charlotte to hang out and “spend a few days with us and kind of watch and give me his thoughts on things.”
There’s no telling if Nash is up for such a task right now, so soon after being fired.
But he could help the team and give them some great pointers.
Nash’s Next Step
Nash’s first time as an NBA coach was a rough ride and it ultimately ended with him being fired by the Nets last week.
Still, no one can deny that he’s one of the best guards of all time and has a wonderful knowledge of the game.
He would be the right sort of pro to give the Hornets helpful tips about shooting well, moving with speed, and working together.
No matter if he takes Clifford up on his offer, there is a good chance that Nash still has a promising future coaching in the league.
Just because his time with the Nets was troubled doesn’t mean the league is done with this Hall of Famer.
