There was a time when it seemed like the Charlotte Hornets were the most exciting young team in the entire NBA.
With the help of LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, and more, the Hornets were in better form than they had been in years.
Ball had really added new, fresh, electric energy to the team and fans could see them going deep into the postseason for the first time in a long time.
But, things have changed.
Now the Hornets are just struggling to make it to the Play-In Tournament.

After Sunday night’s loss to the Detroit Pistons, Charlotte is 2-10 in their last 12 and is also 0-7 in overtime this season.
Those are not encouraging numbers for the young squad and if they have any hopes of making it into the playoffs like before, they need to do whatever they can to steer the ship back on course.
Right The Wrongs
Some people are saying the Hornets peaked early now that they are facing so many problems this late in the season.
It’s undeniable that some of the team’s losses haven’t been 100 percent their fault.
On Sunday night, they kept it pretty close with the Pistons and did a decent job at shutting down some of Detroit’s players but they just couldn’t keep a lid on Kelly Olynyk, who helped lead the team to victory.
But Charlotte needs to once again find its energy and spirit and soon.
The Eastern Conference is wildly difficult this year and they will have some stiff competition when they are trying to make it to the Finals.
If they keep playing as they have been, there is no way they can go all the way.
