The Charlotte Hornets are doing much better than most people expected.
Charlotte has a 3-4 record and has scored some impressive victories, including one against the champion Golden State Warriors over the weekend.
People didn’t expect the Hornets to do well this season and they especially didn’t expect them to do well at the start of it.
That’s because the team has been lacking its lead star, LaMelo Ball, for weeks now due to injury.

But some people are starting to get concerned about Ball.
When it was first announced that he’d miss games because of a grade two sprain in his ankle, the estimated timetable for his return was 7 games or about 19 days.
It’s now been 22 days since that initial announcement and Ball is nowhere to be seen.
What is the cause of this extended absence of one of the league’s best young guards?
Looking For LaMelo
People are worried that the situation with Ball is worse than originally thought.
Why else would Ball still be on the sidelines?
Surely, the team would like Ball back on the court, with his average of 18.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 7 assists.
However, perhaps the Hornets are just giving Ball more time because they are doing better than expected.
As mentioned, the team has exceeded expectations even without Ball suited up.
So maybe they are letting the young man rest more, become even healthier, and call upon him when he’s undeniably ready and the team needs his assistance more.
Ball has had a few concerning absences since joining the league and seems injury-prone at times.
Fans of the Hornets are hoping that when Ball does come back, it’s for the rest of the season.
