When the Atlanta Hawks fired Nate McMillan earlier this week, it was clear they would move fast to replace him and get a new head coach to lead the team.
Now, less than a couple of days later, it sounds like they are practically already writing up the paperwork for their new employee.

Shams Charania is reporting that the Hawks have started discussions with former Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder to bring him in as their latest coach.
Based on how quickly this has moved so far, a deal for Snyder should be completed within the next few days and Snyder will be back in Atlanta, working hard and taking the team under his wing.
Snyder is no stranger to the Hawks.
Before he took on the position in Utah, he was an assistant coach for the Hawks.
Therefore, this is going to be a big homecoming for Snyder, who has been out of a job since he resigned from the Jazz last summer.
He found a lot of success with the Jazz, often dominating in the regular season.
However, that team was never able to translate their success into postseason greatness.
He is hoping to change that record with the Hawks, who have been one of the most talked-about teams in the East since they traded for Dejounte Murray in the offseason.
Despite the addition of Murray and powerhouse stars like Trae Young, John Collins, Clint Capela, and others, the Hawks are not doing as well as predicted.
They are the eighth team in the East with a 29-30 record but are hoping they can turn things around with a new coach leading the way.
