Game 5 of the ALDS between the Cleveland Guardians and the New York Yankees will take place this afternoon after it was postponed due to rain on Monday night.
The game will get underway at 4:07 p.m. Eastern Time and air on TBS.
The Yankees will send their ace in Nestor Cortes to the mound, while the Guardians counter with Aaron Civale.
As the two teams match up for the deciding game of the ALDS today, the Guardians will look to stop a frustrating trend.
They have lost seven consecutive winner-take-all postseason games.
A win today will right the ship for Cleveland.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are looking for their first win in a winner-take-all game in the ALDS or later since 2017, when they completed a comeback from down 2-0 against the Guardians themselves in the ALDS.
The Guardians will look to snap a 7-game losing streak in postseason winner-take-all games (2nd-longest streak in MLB postseason history).

Guardians Look To Snap Frustrating Skid
The pitching matchup may not favor the Guardians, but a win today will snap their frustrating streak of losses in winner-take-all postseason games.
The Guardians won Games 2 and 3 of the series before dropping Game 4 and being forced to play a Game 5.
Civale was the originally scheduled starter for Game 5.
He’ll have a chance to help reverse the Guardians’ fortunes today.
The Guardians current streak is the second longest in postseason history.
But they remain one win away from advancing to their first ALCS since 2016.
The two teams traded wins in the first two games in New York.
Cleveland won Game 3 to come to within one win of the ALCS, but the Yankees won Game 4 to push the series to a deciding Game 5.
We’ll see if Civale is on his game today and can help reverse the team’s fortunes.
If not, the Guardians do have Shane Bieber available in the bullpen.
