The San Francisco Giants bounced back from their series loss to the New York Yankees in a big way on Monday as they scored 12 runs against the Chicago White Sox, spoiling the latter’s home opener in the process.
San Francisco crushed seven home runs and defeated the White Sox by a final of 12-3.
Joc Pederson, Mike Yastrzemski, Thairo Estrada, Michael Conforto, Bryce Johnson, and David Villar provided the power.
Villar homered twice, while Johnson hit his first big-league home run and Conforto hit his first as a member of the Giants.
On Twitter, MLB posted a cool graphic to celebrate the Giants’ accomplishment.

San Francisco certainly went to work on Monday as they dusted the South Siders at Guaranteed Rate Field.
After losing two out of three to the Yankees, the Giants improved to 2-2 and got back to the .500 mark.
During the offseason, San Francisco lost out on stars such as Aaron Judge and Carlos Correa, and also watched Carlos Rodon depart for the Yankees.
But the additions of Mitch Haniger, Conforto, Sean Manaea, and Ross Stripling have put them in a position to potentially surprise some people.
They finished 81-81 last season and came in third place in the NL West.
But their seven-homer outburst is a good sign as they look to bounce back from a difficult 2022 season which saw them fall short of the postseason.
The power of the Giants was on full display on Monday as they spoiled the White Sox’s home opener.
