Social media can be a place of unkindness, anger, and frustration at times.
It can be an outlet for information, misinformation, and something in-between.
However, NFL teams have made a statement by changing their Twitter profile pictures to support Hamlin, in hopes of a full recovery.
Sure, many on-field rivalries exist in a league such as this, and towards the end of the regular season, every decision, every game, and every moment matters to these teams.
The playoffs are just one week away, but that appears to be the furthest thing from the minds of the NFL, and the players that are in the league.
The bond and overall respect that NFL players have for each other are truly remarkable.
When one of their own is fighting for their life, they have done whatever it takes to ensure that Hamlin has their support.
The teams changing their profile pictures is just one gesture, but it goes a long way in uniting fans for a good cause, rallying behind this young man.
