It’s hard to consistently score runs in MLB: it doesn’t matter if you are the Los Angeles Dodgers, crossing home plate five or six times every game is virtually impossible.
The Dodgers realized that this week.
“After averaging more than 5 runs a game during their 12-game winning streak, the Dodgers have failed to score 5 runs in 5 straight games, going 2-3 during that span,” Dodgers insider Blake Harris tweeted.

When the Dodgers score more than five runs, they are very likely to win the ballgame because their pitching is top-notch.
When they don’t, they become a beatable team.
The Dodgers Remain MLB’s Best Organization
So why do they lose so few games?
Because they are extremely good all around.
The Dodgers, at 81-36, are by far MLB’s best and most consistent team.
They will lose every once in a while, but they will win many more games than they drop.
In fact, that little 2-3 streak they are currently in probably won’t last much longer because they are too good to lose consecutive games or fall into a rut.
They remain MLB’s premier organization, capable of developing their own stars with work, coaching, and patience; and going to the market and outspending everyone if they have a specific target they like.
The organization is almost perfectly run, and are in a great position to win their second World Series title in the last three seasons.
There will be more than a few difficult foes, like the New York Mets, the Atlanta Braves, the New York Yankees, and the Houston Astros, but in the end, none of those teams look as strong as the Dodgers.
They will have to show it in October, too.
