It’s no secret that the Los Angeles Dodgers have been nothing short of a powerhouse this season.
127 games into the season, they find themselves 51 games above the .500 mark at 89-38.
Their last 62 games alone have been a dominant stretch.
Buster Olney of ESPN pointed out some interesting facts on Twitter about the Dodgers’ past 62 games.
They’ve scored 360 runs and hit 92 homers, while only allowing 188 runs and 53 home runs.
On top of that, they’ve got a record of 49-13 and are slashing .279/.349/.487.
If they remain at that pace, then the Dodgers could find themselves with as many as 128 wins by the end of the regular season.
The Dodgers over their last 62 games:
360 runs scored
188 runs allowed
92 homers
53 homers allowed
A .279/.349/.487 slash line for the LAD hitters
A record of 49-13; they'd win 128 games at that pace over 162 games.— Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) August 30, 2022
Dodgers On Unreal Pace
This is insane.
The Dodgers are burying everybody else in baseball right now.
They’ve essentially already taken care of business in the National League West division, leading the San Diego Padres by 19.5 games.
They’ve got a pretty good hold on the top seed in the National League as a whole.
They’re eight games ahead of the New York Mets for that spot.
There just doesn’t seem to be any way to slow them down.
Last year, they won 106 games and still had to settle for a Wild Card.
This year, that is not the case.
This is without a doubt one of, if not the best team in all of baseball.
Whatever teams are trying against them, it’s not working.
The Dodgers are simply a runaway train with no team even anywhere remotely close to catching them in the standings.
With one month left to go in the season, the Dodgers are getting very close to wrapping up the NL West and clinching their ninth division title in the last 10 years.
