The Los Angeles Dodgers are something else in 2022.
Having already clinched the NL West crown for the ninth time in the last 10 years, one would think that there isn’t much left to play for until October.
But these Dodgers are still gunning for the best record in all of baseball, and while they’re at it, they are absolutely smoking their NL West rivals.
Los Angeles went 15-4 against the San Francisco Giants, have gone 12-4 against the San Diego Padres, 13-3 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and 8-5 against the Colorado Rockies.
That’s a .750 win percentage, which ties the New York Yankees for the best winning percentage through 147 games against division rivals with at least 30 games being played between said team and its rivals.
The Dodgers are 48-16 vs NL West opponents this season.
Their .750 win percentage ties the 2019 Yankees for the best win percentage vs divisional opponents through game 147 of a regular season (min. 30 divisional games played). https://t.co/PjDy1HnABK

Dodgers Dominant vs. Divisional Foes
That’s quite an impressive mark for the Dodgers.
Throughout the season, they have been able to take it right to their division rivals and dominate them almost every time out.
They’ve played quite well against the Padres, who will likely finish second in the NL West.
They also completely dominated the Giants, last year’s NL West champions.
The Diamondbacks have been a similar story as well.
Surprisingly, it’s the Rockies they’ve had the most difficulty with.
But that doesn’t change the fact that they’ve played their best baseball against their divisional opponents.
That’s when you want to be at your best, so that you can make a statement while playing your rivals.
That is exactly what the Dodgers have done this season.
They have been that dominant force in the NL West, as they have been for years now.
They’ve made quick work of all of their division rivals, which might be why they clinched the division so closely and by such a wide margin.
