Some teams have been very busy this offseason in terms of adding talent, either via trade or free agent signing, while other teams have been relatively quiet.
The Chicago Cubs are a team that has been very busy this offseason, making some frugal bargain moves to strengthen their roster to potentially make a run at the rival St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central.
St. Louis has been dormant since the signing of Willson Contreras.
But after the signings of Trey Mancini, Cody Bellinger, Tucker Barnhart, Eric Hosmer, Dansby Swanson, and Jameson Taillon, the Cubs have put themselves in position to potentially surprise a lot of people.
The tweet below shows what their lineup could potentially look like in 2023.

The Cubs should not be overlooked as we move closer to the start of the 2023 season.
The team finished in third place in the Central with 88 losses in 2022 and have not reached the postseason since 2020.
But with their recent moves, the Cubs look like they could be a sneaky contender in 2023.
It won’t be easy though.
They’ll still have to deal with the Cardinals, who are the likely favorites, and the Milwaukee Brewers whose starting rotation includes three frontline pitchers in Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff, and Freddy Peralta.
But this team still should not be overlooked as they hope to bounce back from two consecutive disappointing seasons.
The rotation looks stronger, as does the lineup.
Of course, many of the moves they made were bargain deals, but if all goes according to plan, the Cubs could be a team worth watching in 2023.
