No Willson Contreras?
No problem.
The Chicago Cubs have had a very busy winter and have made some key moves to strengthen their ballclub heading into the 2023 season.
After a 74-88 finish, Chicago added Jameson Taillon to bolster their starting rotation.
On the offensive side, the Cubs have added Dansby Swanson, Tucker Barnhart, Eric Hosmer, Trey Mancini, and Cody Bellinger.
Needless to say, they are looking a lot better heading into the 2023 season than they did before 2022.
On Twitter, MLB on FOX posted a graphic featuring the Cubs’ projected 2023 lineup, according to FanGraphs, and if what is projected comes to fruition, then the Cubs should have a dangerous lineup this coming season.

While many may concede the National League Central division to the St. Louis Cardinals after they ran away with the division title in 2022, the Cubs can’t be counted out, and may not be too far behind their arch rivals in terms of roster construction.
The Cubs still have Ian Happ for at least one more season.
But after the departure of Contreras, the Cubs made sure to add some supplements to their lineup.
Now, the team looks to be in a position to challenge St. Louis for NL Central supremacy.
Another interesting piece the Cubs have in their lineup is outfielder Seiya Suzuki, who was signed last winter.
Suzuki dealt with some injuries in 2022, but could emerge as a key contributor for the Cubs in 2023 if he can remain healthy.
Spring training is right around the corner, and you can bet that Cubs fans are excited to see their new-look squad in action.
