In their 54-19 rout of the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys were a mere touchdown away from making franchise history.
In their history, the Cowboys have scored 59 points in two separate games, and have scored 56 points in two other games as well.
The 54 Cowboys points is third-most in Dallas franchise history.

Sunday’s win marked their third-best point total in franchise history.
Beyond their franchise history, the Cowboys boast the two highest-scoring games in the NFL this season.
They put up 49 points against the Chicago Bears earlier this year, en route to a 49-29 victory.
After running up the point total against the Colts on Sunday night, the Cowboys have sent a message to the entire league.
They’re in it to win it this season.
Where The Cowboys Currently Stand
After this victory, the Cowboys are two games behind the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East.
While it is unlikely they will usurp the Eagles for the top spot in the NFC East, the Cowboys currently have a 99% chance to make the playoffs.
They have the third-best record in the NFC, only behind the 11-1 Eagles and 10-2 Minnesota Vikings.
The Cowboys average 27.8 points scored per game, and they are allowing just 17.2 points per game.
Both are the third-best marks in the league.
Dallas has not been to the NFC Championship since 1995, the year that they ended up winning the Super Bowl.
With this high-flying offense and staunch defense, the Cowboys certainly have vaulted themselves into the Super Bowl conversation.
The real question is, can they beat the Eagles when it matters most?
