The Indianapolis Colts want to leave no stone unturned when it comes to finding their next head coach.
The front office believes they have a roster that’s good enough to compete for a Super Bowl right away, and — outside of the quarterback position — they might be right.
That’s why they’ll conduct a rare third round of interviews to find the perfect Frank Reich replacement.
The team recently brought Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn back for a second interview, but they may not be entirely sold on him just yet.
According to NFL insider Albert Breer, they’ll now interview Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen for a second time as well, shortly before he leaves for Arizona to get ready for the Super Bowl.
The Colts are sending a contingent to interview Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen in Philadelphia on Saturday, per sources. Steichen’s first interview was over Zoom.
The Eagles leave for Arizona on Sunday.

Local media outlets believe this interview could be the only thing standing in the way of the rumored third round of interviews, something that hasn’t happened in the league for the past forty years.
Notably, the Colts also held an interview with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who’s been a perennial HC candidate for years now.
Moreover, they’ll have to wait until after the Super Bowl is over if they want to get in touch with either Bieniemy or Steichen again, meaning we might not get any clarity on their HC situation for the next couple of weeks if they decide to conduct that third round of interviews.
So, don’t sweat it, Colts fans.
It seems like we may not know anything for a while.
