It is insane to think that less than a year ago there were people calling on the Boston Celtics to split up the pairing of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
You have to remember that the team got off to a very rocky start at the beginning of 2021-22 and they looked bound for a rough and long year.
But they got it together under first-year head coach Ime Udoka and the powerful roster that Brad Stevens has built.
Talk of Tatum and Brown not working together slowly evaporated and the Celtics went all the way to the Finals.

They are now attempting to build upon the success of last year and Tatum and Brown will be a central part of that.
On opening night, both players scored 35 points each, with Tatum landing 12 rebounds and Brown grabbing 4 of his own.
70 points between these two was all that fans needed to see.
Boston now has a backcourt duo that is being called better than Curry and Thompson or really any other pair in the entire NBA.
Will these two be great all season long?
Boston’s Boys
It is not surprising to see Tatum and Brown do so well as the season kicks off.
Both have been showing progress during the summer.
Tatum has been working on his physicality and his ability to defend and go toe-to-toe with guys much bigger than him.
Footage of Brown working out underwater proved that he is enhancing his stamina and planning to become even faster and harder to stop.
Both of these guys are terrific players but when they are playing well together, the Celtics look nearly unstoppable.
They want to win – and they want to win together.
