The Boston Celtics have very hard work cut out for themselves in the season ahead.
Things were already tough a few weeks ago when it was announced that Danilo Gallinari wouldn’t be able to play this season because of an ACL injury.
Following that, it was revealed that Robert Williams would also be missing some time because of injury.
Then things got way worse when head coach Ime Udoka was suspended for an entire season.
Interim head coach Joe Mazzulla is now getting ready to lead the team for the first time in his life and he’s trying to assemble a strong group to help him.
Jay Larranaga will remain on Ty Lue’s staff with the Clippers, sources told @SInow. Boston received permission this week to speak to Larranaga. Larranaga, a valued member of Lue’s staff, prefers to remain in Los Angeles.

The other day, we heard that the team was reaching out to the Los Angeles Clippers to see if they could interview assistant coach Jay Larranaga for a position.
Now it’s been decided that Larranaga will remain with the Clippers.
This isn’t the end of the world for the Celtics because they still have a very strong coaching crew.
Of course, they also have one of the greatest rosters in the league.
Becoming The Boss Of Boston
Of course, Mazzulla’s new job is a huge one, this is the largest moment of his career.
However, the young man seems ready for the challenge.
He has worked with the Celtics for a few years now and knows each player well.
Therefore, he will be able to pick up where Udoka left off and continue the team’s drive to be the best in the NBA.
They came close last season, making it as far as the Finals, but they want to do even more this year.
They’ll do so without a couple of star players and their regular head coach but it can be done.
