Blake Griffin has been playing for the Boston Celtics for just one season so far but he has already had a huge influence on the team.
While his average of 4.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists during his 14.2 minutes a game isn’t Earth-shattering, he has become a crucial part of the Celtics.
That is why they are celebrating Griffin on Thursday for his 34th birthday.

Griffin has only started in 13 of his 32 games for the Celtics but his impact goes way beyond the amount of time he spends on the floor.
For years now, Griffin has been one of the most beloved stars in the league, by both players and fans.
He brings a wonderful personality and attitude to each team he’s played for.
That is why he has become a fan favorite with a number of squads in the league.
A former first-overall draft pick, he came into the NBA with the Los Angeles Clippers in 2010.
Griffin became an overnight sensation and was a huge part of the team’s major rebuilding process.
Playing alongside the likes of Chris Paul and others, Griffin was a central figure in the Lob City movement that drove the NBA wild in the early 2010s.
During that time, he averaged more than 20 points and 10 rebounds a night and was known for his flashy dunks and alley-oops.
After his time with the Clippers came to an end, Griffin moved to the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and finally the Celtics.
Injuries have added up over the years and Griffin isn’t always able to catch air and wow the crowd in the ways he used to.
But he is still a popular, valuable, and cherished NBA star.
