We all know that the Boston Celtics are technically the best team in the NBA right now – but they could be even better.
Yes, they have Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the show and Tatum is definitely in the running to win MVP with the season he’s having.
Plus, Marcus Smart is playing well, Derrick White is becoming a fan favorite, and the rest of the roster is also stepping up and helping them become the best offensive team in the league.
Still, they are missing a crucial part of their team.
#NEBHInjuryReport vs. Lakers:
Danilo Gallinari (left knee ACL repair) – OUT
Al Horford (personal reasons) – OUT
Robert Williams (left knee surgery) – OUT— Boston Celtics (@celtics) December 13, 2022
Robert Williams is still out, even though there were rumors that he’d be returning to the game earlier in the week.
The team released an injury report for their Tuesday night game against the Los Angeles Lakers and Williams is listed as out due to his rehabilitation from knee surgery.
This is certainly a big bummer for fans of the team, who were expecting to see Williams soon.
Whenever he does come back, he will be a huge help to an already terrific team.
Without Williams
Williams is a defensive master and that is exactly what the Celtics want from him when he returns, whenever that may be.
To be clear, the Celtics really do believe that Williams will be back soon – just not soon enough.
Last season, the big man was good for 10 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2 assists.
He was very important during the team’s postseason and he was the key to keeping the opponents limited, especially in the paint.
Since his absence began, others like Al Horford and Blake Griffin have attempted to step up and help the team.
Right now Horford is also out, however, which leaves a lot of pressure on Griffin and the much smaller guys on the court.
