The St. Louis Cardinals are treating the Wild Card Series against the Philadelphia Phillies as an all-hands-on-deck affair.
They are making sure to take every weapon they can use to take down the Phillies, and that includes all five regular season starters.
Not every one of them will have the chance to start, though, but those who don’t get the nod on Game 3 will be available from the bullpen.
We already know that Jose Quintana, who closed out the season with a 0.81 ERA in his last six starts, will take the ball in Game 1 on Friday; and that righty Miles Mikolas will start the second game on Saturday.
The Cardinals Are Taking All Their Starting Pitching Depth To The Series
Other starters, such as Adam Wainwright, Jordan Montgomery and Jack Flaherty, will be available out of the bullpen.
One of them, however, will get to start Game 3 on Sunday if the series is tied after Saturday.
“All 5 of the #STLCards starters will be on the roster, but no decision yet on potential Game 3 starter,” USA Today’s Bob Nightengale tweeted.

Dakota Hudson was sent to the minors and won’t be a part of the NL Wild Card series roster, though.
Wainwright, Montgomery and Flaherty are all capable of dominating the Phillies’ offense if they get the ball on Game 3, so the Cardinals are in a great position to compete.
They will also be at home, feeding from the energy of the fans who will show their support on every play.
Everything is ready for this exciting series between two solid squads.
St. Louis may be the slight favorites to advance, but sleeping on the Phillies would be a mistake.
