Both the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls are not having the seasons they envisioned.
Many people expected the Lakers to face tough times and while they have gotten quite a bit better lately, they are not even qualified for the play-in tournament right now.
The Bulls’ troubles are even more shocking as they were one of the breakout teams last season and now sit as the 11th team in the East with an 11-15 record.
Since both teams are struggling, it’s no wonder that they might be discussing a possible trade.

But it’s being reported that the Bulls have “zero interest” in a trade that involves Russell Westbrook for DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic.
Is that shocking?
No, not really.
But there is a chance that the Bulls may change their mind soon.
LA & Chicago
The talk about the Bulls blowing up their team and starting a rebuild has gotten even louder over the last few days.
There are now numerous rumors saying that the Bulls’ front office might choose to do something drastic and trade away some of their biggest talents.
DeRozan and Vucevic certainly qualify as major stars, so you know the Bulls will want a lot for them.
Westbrook wouldn’t be enough, they would also require at least one future first-round draft pick.
At least that is what they are saying right now.
If the Bulls continue to struggle in the weeks ahead, they might be more open to the idea of packaging their stars for a deal they once denied.
Losing a lot has a funny way of sweetening the pot.
As of now, Westbrook isn’t going to be enough to get the Bulls talking – but the season is long and the challenges will be many.
