For years, NBA fans expected the Brooklyn Nets to be the team to beat in the Eastern Conference.
So, obviously, that kind of offensive juggernaut was expected to be an all-time treat to watch.
Needless to say, that was far from the case, as injuries and off-court issues broke up the Big 3 before they could reach their true potential.
Then, with Ben Simmons‘ back issues and reluctant to shoot, some fans thought their title window had already closed, and it was just a matter of time before they blew the roster up.
Now, the Nets have finally found their groove under coach Jacque Vaughn.
They’re officially the hottest team in the Association, riding a nine-game winning streak and winning 15 of their last 17 games:

“Each day we try to gather as a team and think how we can get better,” coach Vaughn said after the win over the Cavaliers. “It is as simple as ‘we’re going to try to get a win’ that day.”
The Nets have shaken off those concerns about their defense and lack of size.
They’re shooting the ball at an impressive clip, and it seems like they’ve finally developed some chemistry on the court.
Of course, some are still hesitant to give the Nets the nod as the team to beat out of the East, as they’ve constantly found ways to shoot themselves in the foot.
But this is the last team anybody will want to face in a seven-game series, especially playing this way.
