The Denver Broncos hired Nathaniel Hackett last offseason and then landed Russell Wilson in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks.
Yet, for the second year in a row, Denver is a popular name in the coaching cycle after they fired Hackett.
It was an unacceptable season in Denver, especially with preseason playoff hopes surrounding them, and Hackett and Wilson both are significant talking points after a 5-12 record.
The Broncos are wasting no time in their coaching search and have a top coordinator as a target for the second straight year.
Broncos have requested permission to interview Cowboys DC Dan Quinn for their HC job, per source.

The Broncos are requesting permission to speak with Dan Quinn, the current Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator and the former Seattle Seahawks DC and Atlanta Falcons HC.
After his stint as the Falcons head coach, he went to Dallas and has turned around the defense in just a couple of seasons.
Last year, the Broncos also brought in Quinn for an interview before deciding to roll with Hackett.
Quinn’s head coaching record is 43-42 and he added three playoff victories during that stint.
Quinn was the head coach of the Falcons when they went to the Super Bowl in the infamous 28-3 collapse against the New England Patriots.
Quinn also has familiarity with Wilson since he was with Seattle for some time, and he is well-known for his role in that Legion of Boom defense.
The Cowboys DC is one of the most popular names once again, and he should get some serious looks in this coaching cycle once again.
