A big series is coming this week.
Starting tonight, the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals will play a two-game series that will go a long way in determining how soon St. Louis will walk away with the division title.
St. Louis leads the Brewers by a commanding eight games and has a magic number of 14 to clinch.
While the Brewers are likely not going to catch the Cardinals at this point, they remain just two games back of the final NL Wild Card spot.
They’ve also played the Cardinals pretty tough this season.
In the tweet below, you’ll find a head-to-head comparison between these two teams and how evenly matched the season series has been.

Brewers, Cards Set For Big Series
This is a huge series for both teams.
The Cardinals could potentially increase their lead in the division to 10 games, while the Brewers could bring it down to six and ignite a little hope to catch the Cards, if not gain some ground in the Wild Card race while the San Diego Padres deal with the red-hot Seattle Mariners.
Even if the Brewers don’t catch the Cardinals, which in all likelihood will be the case, they could use this series as a sort of springboard to get hot again.
Winning this series would be a big confidence builder for the Crew as we move closer to the postseason.
These two teams have been evenly matched all season long, with the Cardinals holding a slim edge in the head-to-head matchup.
But if you look at all the other stats featured, you’ll find that both teams are relatively close in all of them.
It’s going to be an exciting series for sure.
We’ll see who comes out on top.
