The Milwaukee Brewers have endured a similar fall from grace to that of the Los Angeles Angels earlier this season, and it’s come at the worst possible time.

The Brewers haven’t been the same team since they traded away Josh Hader at the trade deadline last month, and the paradigm has completely shifted in the NL Central.

Yesterday, the Brewers fell, 8-4, to the Colorado Rockies on the heels of blowing a 6-1 lead on Tuesday night and falling in extra innings.

While the Brewers have collapsed, their division rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals, have found their groove and have opened up a 9.5-game lead in the Central.

Brewers Continue To Collapse

This has been a very bad stretch for the Brewers.

The script has been completely flipped in the NL Central.

For a good chunk of the season, the Brewers had command of first place.

Not anymore.

The Cardinals have gotten hot and taken off, and they now have a magic number of 17 to clinch the division.

With these two teams essentially going in opposite directions, the Cards could be popping champagne in the next couple of weeks.

Not only have the Brewers fallen out of contention in the NL Central, but they continue to slip in the Wild Card race as well.

They now trail the San Diego Padres by four games for the third NL Wild Card spot.

Things aren’t looking too good in Milwaukee.

After four straight years in the postseason, the Brewers appear to be headed for a quiet October.

There’s still a little time to turn it around, but not much.

It’s now or never for the Brew Crew.
