The defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves are your NL East champions in 2022.
With a win last night, Atlanta secured their fifth consecutive NL East title, as well as home-field advantage in the NLDS.
It wasn’t easy for Atlanta.
They had to overcome a 10.5-game deficit in the division.
The New York Mets led the division for much of the season, but the Braves are the ones who came out on top.
And there are several reasons why the Braves emerged victorious, as you’ll see in the tweet below.
It’s their 22nd division title, which is the most by any team in the history of baseball, including the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees.
#Braves tonight clinch their 22nd division title…the most in Major League history. The Dodgers and Yankees each have 20.
Atlanta will also finish the 2022 season without suffering a series sweep. They're just the sixth team since 1990 to go an entire season without being swept

How The East Was Won
When you can go a whole season without being swept, that means you’re doing something right.
It’s been that type of year for the Braves.
But even when they were 10.5 games back, counting them out would have been a bad idea.
The Braves are rolling now, and they have proven that they are the best team in the NL East, even after the Mets made some key moves in the offseason and at the trade deadline.
This has been one of the most dominant teams in all of baseball all season long and they are a serious threat to repeat as World Series champions.
They’re only the sixth team since 1990 to not be swept in a single series over the course of a 162-game season.
They’ll await the winner of the series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Philadelphia Phillies this weekend.
The Braves will open up the NLDS at home next Tuesday.
