Usually, when a team wins the World Series, they are invited to the White House to share an afternoon, or an evening, with the President of the United States.
That meeting doesn’t always come right away: it’s hard to gather every member of the roster and the coaching staff once the action ends, in the offseason, and once they report to spring training and the regular season starts, there is also a lot of traveling.
Of course, the president’s agenda is also an obstacle, as you would imagine he/she would be very busy at nearly all times.
In this case, it took a while, but President Joe Biden and the Atlanta Braves‘ 2021 World Series-winning squad finally made it to the White House.
“Wider shot to get a few more of the fellas in it. #Braves at White House,” David O’Brien, who covers the team for The Athletic, tweeted.

The Meeting Finally Took Place On Monday
The meeting with the president took place on Monday morning at around 11:45, in the East Room of the White House.
The Braves barely made it to the postseason last year after a late push, and ended up winning the Fall Classic in impressive fashion without the injured Ronald Acuna Jr.
This time, they have already wrapped their ticket to the playoffs in advance, but are still 1.5 games behind the New York Mets for the NL East lead.
After the tradition stopped, Biden restored it and has already hosted the NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks and Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the White House in the past.
Now, it was the Braves’ turn, and they made a jersey with his name on the back as a token of appreciation for the invite.
