In the blink of an eye, the future of this NBA season changed drastically.
We all expected some big deals to be made before Thursday’s trade deadline but few people thought the Brooklyn Nets would lose Kevin Durant.
However, that is exactly what happened, as the news leaked right after midnight that Durant was headed to the Phoenix Suns.
This turned the Western Conference upside down and it also gave the Suns a much bigger shot at going further than they ever have.

According to Caesars Sportsbook, the Suns are now one of the two favorites to win the Finals this year.
The Boston Celtics are still the top team with +350 but the Suns are now just behind them with +500.
Just like that, Phoenix is the most feared team in the West and has a legitimate shot at achieving something they have constantly fallen short of.
Those are obviously gigantic expectations and it’s important that fans keep their hopes in check.
The team now has Durant, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul leading the way, which is an incredible big three.
But there could be roadblocks that prevent them from winning the Finals, at least right away.
Each of those three stars has experienced injuries lately.
In fact, Durant is still out as he recovers from his latest injury.
But if they can remain healthy there is no reason to believe they won’t be the team to beat in the West.
This was the sort of massive trade that puts a lot of pressure on the Suns.
If they achieve anything short of greatness, fans will be upset and new trade rumors will begin.
They have built one of the best teams in the league but now it’s time to prove what they can do.
