The Chicago Bears have been plagued with injuries on this season, which has been the main contributor to their 3-9 season record.
In a season amidst mediocrity as a franchise, they have unfortunately lost another player to injury.
#Bears standout S Eddie Jackson suffered what appears to be a significant Lisfranc injury in Sunday’s game against the #Jets, sources tell me and @RapSheet. Jackson is still receiving opinions on his foot, but he’s considered out indefinitely. Another tough loss for Chicago.

Eddie Jackson, who has been a significant bright spot for the Bears, is out for the foreseeable future.
And, with games against the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Buffalo Bills on the horizon, Jackson’s presence will certainly be missed.
The State Of The Bears Defense
Without Jackson at free safety, the Bears will have to look elsewhere to lock down upcoming receiver matchups, which include athletes like Stefon Diggs, A.J. Brown, Christian Watson, and many more.
Each one of those receivers can stretch the field and make some extraordinary plays, making the jobs difficult for even the best of defenders.
Behind Jackson, the Bears will have to lean on their second and third-string free safeties, Elijah Hicks and DeAndre Houston-Carson.
Houston-Carson is a seven-year NFL veteran, who has appeared in 89 total games for the Bears.
In terms of his 2022 output, Houston-Carson has contributed 17 total tackles, and forced five fumbles, but hasn’t had any interceptions.
Hicks, on the other hand, is a rookie that the Bears drafted in the seventh round of the 2022 draft.
He has appeared in 10 games, in which he has contributed just nine tackles.
The Bears will need these two to step up in a big way in the absence of Jackson.
They certainly have their work cut out for them.
