The Houston Astros and manager Dusty Baker have officially agreed on a one-year contract extension.
Baker recently led the Astros to their second World Series title in franchise history.
Houston won an American League-best 106 games during the regular season to earn a bye to the ALDS.
They swept both the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees to reach the Fall Classic, where they would dispose of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Baker now has his first World Series ring in his legendary managerial career.
Today, Baker and the Astros made the contract extension official, with the Astros announcing the news via a statement that was posted on Twitter.

Dusty, Astros Make It Official
Baker joined the Astros after the dismissal of A.J. Hinch prior to the start of the 2020 season.
Hinch was dismissed as a result of the sign-stealing scandal from the 2017 season, a year in which the Astros won their first championship.
But Baker took over and immediately gained the respect of the clubhouse.
In 2020, he guided the Astros to the ALCS, where they fell in seven games to the Tampa Bay Rays.
Last season, Baker steered the Astros to a 95-67 finish.
Houston advanced all the way to the World Series, but fell short against the Atlanta Braves.
This year, Baker finally captured that elusive World Series title, and in 2023, he’ll have a chance to defend that title as the Astros look to make a run back to the Fall Classic.
Baker will certainly get a warm hand from the crowd in Houston on Opening Day.
