After the Houston Astros won their second World Series in the last six years, owner Jim Crane surprised the baseball world when he did not retain the team’s general manager in James Click.
And so, the Astros have been searching for a new general manager since Click’s sudden departure.
However, today they found the man for the job.
Moments ago, it was announced that the Astros had hired Dana Brown to become their new GM.
On Twitter, the Astros communications department released a statement on the new hire, expressing excitement for having Brown on board and listing some of his many accomplishments with other organizations.

Brown has spent the past four seasons in the Atlanta Braves organization as the Vice President of Scouting.
While with the Braves, he oversaw the drafting of some very solid young players, including National League Rookie of the Year Michael Harris, Spencer Strider, and Vaughn Grissom.
During that time, the Braves won four division titles in addition to their division crown in 2018, before Brown was in his new role.
The team reached the NLCS twice and won a World Series title in 2021.
Prior to his time in the Braves organization, Brown spent nine seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays as a special assistant to the general manager.
The Blue Jays reached the postseason twice during that span, including an AL East title in 2015.
Brown also served as the Director of Scouting for the Washington Nationals (2001-2009) and as the scouting supervisor and east-coast cross checker for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1993-2000).
