On Thursday, the Houston Astros officially began their 2022 World Series title defense as they opened up the 2023 season against the Chicago White Sox.
But before the game began, the team got a visit from a Houston legend in rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who delivered the ceremonial first pitch.
According to Karl Ravech on the ESPN broadcast, Stallion had been practicing her first pitch in the batting cages and doing her best to prepare for the pitch clock.
Fortunately, she managed to master the art of the pitch clock.
On Twitter, ESPN posted a video of the famous rapper delivering his ceremonial first pitch.

Unfortunately, the pitch itself wasn’t too impressive, but it’s the experience that counts.
Stallion appeared to be having a blast as the Houston crowd gave her a warm hand.
And there’s nothing like kicking off the 2023 season with a Houston legend in the house while the celebration of the 2022 World Series title continues.
The Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in six games to capture the title last October.
Stallion kicked the celebration off in style with her first pitch.
The crowd in Houston absolutely loved it.
Unfortunately, the Astros couldn’t follow it up with a win.
They were dominated by Dylan Cease for much of the night and ultimately only mustered two runs against a strong White Sox pitching staff.
But with a star in the house, the excitement was palpable, and the crowd was more than happy to see one of Houston’s finest to kick off the new season.
