We tend to talk a lot about the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves as two excellent franchises who work on sustainability and do almost everything right.
But the World Series and the whole postseason helped us remember that the Houston Astros are in that tier, and one could make an argument that they are actually a step above.
The Astros’ Twitter account certainly reminded us all about their recent achievements, and they are considerable.
“100+ wins in four of the last five full seasons. Six straight ALCS appearances. Four AL Pennants in last six years. Two World Series titles in last six years. The Golden Era of Astros baseball continues,” they tweeted.

There are different definitions of dynasty, according to every person.
The Astros Dynasty Is Still Very Much In Place
If we go by the one that says two or more consecutive World Series championships, then the 1998-2000 New York Yankees are the most recent one.
If we go with multiple Fall Classics in a short period, then we will go with the 2010-2014 San Francisco Giants, winners of three titles in a span of five years.
The Astros, however, can also be considered a dynasty because they are constantly fighting for the championship at the highest level.
Since 2017, they have finished among the best four teams in the league, a span of six straight seasons.
They made three of the last four World Series, in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
And they have won two trophies in the last six years.
That level of dominance at a time in which baseball is closer and more contested than ever should be celebrated and recognized.
The Astros have really built something special, whatever you want to call it.
