After a disastrous season in which they finished 73-89 and fell short of the postseason for the eighth consecutive year, the Los Angeles Angels made the first major free agent signing of the offseason.
Yesterday, the Halos agreed to terms with veteran left-hander Tyler Anderson on a three-year, $39 million contract.
Anderson spent this past season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, going 15-5 and posting a 2.57 ERA in 30 appearances and 28 starts.
The 32-year-old also earned his first All-Star appearance.
The move became official today.
On Twitter, the Angels announced the move and posted a graphic of Anderson in Angels gear, welcoming their new left-hander to the ballclub.

Angels Sign Anderson
The Halos were in desperate need of some pitching reinforcements and for somebody to slot into their starting rotation next to two-way star Shohei Ohtani.
With yesterday’s move, the Angels got their man.
Anderson came up with the Colorado Rockies in 2016 and spent the first four seasons of his career with the team.
After a brief stop with the San Francisco Giants, Anderson split time between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Seattle Mariners in 2021.
The Dodgers took a flyer on him in the offseason, signing him to a one-year deal.
With the new contract, Anderson has officially inked the first multi-year deal of his career.
The lefty was the first big free agent to come off the board yesterday.
The Angels posted a 3.77 team ERA in 2022, which was ninth best in all of baseball sixth in the American League.
Anderson provides a veteran presence in a rotation that sorely needed a second frontline starter.
