The AL East Contenders Are All Heating Up

The American League East for the longest time has been one of, if not the toughest division in all of baseball.

And this year, with a third Wild Card team being added to the playoff picture in the new CBA, that division could potentially have four teams reach the postseason.

The New York Yankees, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Tampa Bay Rays have all played good baseball up to this point.

Tampa Bay has slowed down just a tad, but now the Boston Red Sox appear to be picking things up a little.

One Red Sox insider pointed out where the Sox, as well as the Yankees and Blue Jays, stand right now and how those three teams have the best records in baseball since May 13.

MLB’s best records since May 13:

T1. Red Sox (16-7, .696)
T1. Yankees (16-7, .696)
3. Blue Jays (14-7, .667)

A Juggernaut Division

The AL East as a whole is heating up at just the right time.

It is once again proving to be the best and toughest division in all of baseball.

You’ve got four teams duking it out who are all good and clear contenders for the postseason.

It took the Red Sox a little while to get it going again after their tough start, but now they’re in business.

The Los Angeles Angels’ recent skid has certainly helped them get back into contention, but this division has no soft spots, and you can’t slack off, even for a second.

These four teams are all teams that you do not want to play come October.

The entire division is red-hot and proving to be a juggernaut once again.

We’ll see if the playoff race stays as is, with four teams from one division all qualifying for the postseason.
