The San Francisco 49ers took a major blow in their Sunday game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Not long after the game started, quarterback Trey Lance suffered a season-ending ankle injury.
With the young quarterback out, the 49ers turned to Jimmy Garoppolo yet again.
However, his fate as a 49er was in question all offseason.
But the 49ers and Garoppolo came to an agreement to stay in San Francisco.
As of now, that decision by the 49ers was a wise choice.
He Showed On Sunday Why He Should Lead The 49ers Offense
Coming in for Lance was a chance for the veteran QB to show why he should lead the 49ers offense.
With that chance, Garoppolo showed why he’s the quarterback to lead his team.
Against a division foe that had the 49ers’ number last season, the veteran QB led his team to victory.

A new fire is now ignited inside of the veteran QB, whose job in San Francisco was given to a younger QB.
However, by fate, he now has his starting job back.
But can the savvy QB lead the 49ers offense to another playoff appearance this season?
Garoppolo’s Moxie Gives 49ers A Better Shot At Reaching The Playoffs
If anyone saw Lance’s performance in his first start of 2022, they might feel Garoppolo is the better QB.
Trey Lance, in a torrential downpour, looking like 2018 Josh Allen, should be the least surprising development of week one but yet people are already starting the Jimmy G questions.

However, his first start this season came in a game where the field was flooded as he faced a downpour of rain.
But it didn’t stop the worries some fans might have of the young QB.
While their concerns might have merit, with Lance’s injury, we won’t know how his 2022 performance could have turned out.
With him out, this is Garoppolo’s team for one more season.
He’s shown before how he’s a master of the QB sneak, much like his former teammate Tom Brady.
Jimmy G QB sneak 🙌
And that should do it.

His ability to muster a comeback in games also gives the 49ers hope for a good season.
Everything he brings to the table shows a player who’s able to give San Francisco a better shot at the playoffs.
However, it comes down to their veteran QB’s ability to remain healthy.
Can The 49ers Offensive Line Keep Garoppolo Healthy?
With the Lance injury, some might question the 49ers offensive line’s ability to protect their QB from injuries.
However, with Garoppolo being a pocket passer, the 49ers offensive line only needs to give him a clean pocket.
They don’t have to run exotic blocking schemes for the veteran QB, as he’s not much of a runner.
This allows that line to focus their attention on the defensive players rushing them.
So while some worry Garoppolo may suffer the same fate as their young QB, it’s his pocket awareness that will save him.
He knows this offense well and can execute plays without fear of injury.
With him staying in the pocket, he’s got a better chance of staying healthy than if he runs away from his blockers.
So fear not 49ers fans, this offensive line is good enough to protect Garoppolo.
