The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the best teams in the NFL over the past five seasons.
Each year they are consistently good in the regular season despite a bunch of injuries.
But they have not been able to get over the Super Bowl hurdle.
Part of the reason has been quarterback play, or lack thereof.
Last season in the NFC Championship, all of their quarterbacks got hurt.
They had to put Brock Purdy back on the field, who could not throw the ball in the year’s most important game.
The injury bug has been brutal to the 49ers in the past few seasons.
But, entering 2023, they will once again be one of the favorites in the NFC.
One reason for optimism with this team is that they have great skill players.
At running back, they have Christian McCaffrey.
While they also have three great pass-catchers in Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk.
The 49ers hope to keep those guys around as long as possible.
According to Dov Kleiman, the 49ers have picked up the fifth-year option on Aiyuk.

Aiyuk has formed into a great playmaker and one of the best WR2s in the NFL.
He is a very good route runner and explosive with the ball in his hands.
Last season he set a career-high in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.
It was a no-brainer for the Niners to keep him in San Francisco for another year.
If the 49ers can stay healthy in 2023, they will once again be a threat to win the NFC.
