Postseason Preview
The Wild Card series will begin on Friday afternoon for both leagues and run through Sunday, with the higher seed hosting all three games.
In the AL, the Toronto Blue Jays will play host to the Mariners in the 4-5 matchup, while the Tampa Bay Rays will travel to face the Cleveland Guardians in the 3-6 matchup.
In the NL, the New York Mets will be the top Wild Card, and thanks to the Padres’ win and Phillies loss last night, they’ll host the Padres in the 4-5 matchup.
The Phillies will hit the road and travel to play the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
The Cardinals are the team that knocked out the Phils the last time they made the postseason in 2011.
That will be the 3-6 matchup in the NL.
With the new format, the top two seeds in each league will get a bye to the Division Series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have the best record in baseball and have home-field advantage through the World Series.
They’ll await the winner of the Mets and Padres series, while the Braves await the winner of the Phillies and Cardinals matchup.
In the AL, the Astros will await the winner of the Toronto-Seattle series, while the New York Yankees await the winner of the Guardians and Rays series.
