The Houston Texans organization has undergone several changes during the 2023 NFL offseason.
They have added DeMeco Ryans as their head coach, and have since made moves to better their team.
One of those moves was signing Laremy Tunsil to a contract extension, to the tune of $75 million.
Ryans has recently commented on this contract, calling it “beneficial to our entire team.”

With this contract, Tunsil is now the highest-paid left tackle in the league.
Although positions like quarterback, wide receiver, and cornerback are often in the news, offensive linemen have one of the most important jobs on the field.
In particular, the left tackle position is increasingly vital, as their job is to protect a quarterback’s blind spot.
Tunsil’s presence on the offensive line is great news for whatever rookie enters the Texans’ system.
Recently, the Texans have announced that they will be meeting with C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young, the top two quarterback prospects in the class.
While the Texans’ offensive weapons aren’t among the league’s best, their offensive line, led by Tunsil, should help a rookie succeed.
Will the Texans be able to find success in Ryans’ first season as their head coach, given his prior resume and prior experience?
Sometimes, it takes a few years for a coach’s scheme to take hold, resulting in a slight rebuild.
With a rookie quarterback running the team, the Texans could experience a few growing pains over the next season or two.
What will the Texans’ record be in 2023, following their disappointing 2022 campaign?
