The NBA Draft Lottery is a special night for fans and a stressful one for organizations.

Teams watch as their futures are changed by ping pong balls.

That was the case once again.

Some find misfortune, while others are triumphant.

Let’s talk about the winners of this lottery.

Several teams made out good.

Only a few were able to get their best-case scenario.

A successful future can all start with a great pick.

Yes, you do need to get lucky with the actual selection.

Scouting is a very important piece of this.

You need to know who the right pick is for your organization.

However, it always comes down to the ping pong balls first and foremost.

The lottery system is all based on the luck of the draw.

There is nothing you can do, but watch.

These two teams watched as their franchises won big.

Here are the two teams that won this year’s Lottery.

2. Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets were close to losing out on their draft pick.

It was top-four protected.

If it fell outside of the top four, the pick would go to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Rockets had a very rough season.

After years of being a top contender in the league with James Harden, they finished with the worst record in the league this season.

They needed this pick as they are in rebuild mode.

Not only did they keep the pick, but they received the second overall pick in the draft.

Cade Cunningham is mostly likely going first overall.

With the second pick, there are plenty of options.

They can go with big man Evan Mobley.

There are guards, such as Jalen Green or Jalen Suggs, that they can select from.

Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. seem like the pieces they want to use as their building blocks.

The roster can rounded into shape.

This was their best-case scenario.

The Rockets can start their rebuild just right.

1. Detroit Pistons

The biggest winner would surely go to the NBA team that gets the first overall pick.

For this season, that team is the Detroit Pistons.

However, it is more than just winning the first pick.

This team has not received a top-three pick since 2003.

Furthermore, the team has not had the number one overall pick since 1970.

The Pistons have finally received good news at the lottery.

A team that has been stuck in mediocrity for so long, finally has some hope.

The team is in desperate need of some star power.

They had Blake Griffin, but he ended up being hurt constantly.

Their great teams of the 2000s was the last time they had real hope.

After 2009, this team has been at the bottom for so long.

The city of Detroit should be ecstatic.

With Jerami Grant playing good basketball, they also have Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart, both of whom made All-Rookie teams.

Now, they have the first overall pick to go along with that.

Cunningham has the potential to be a special player in the NBA.

The Pistons now have the potential of a great future.

Welcome back, Pistons.
