While the Washington Commanders aren’t having a great season, Taylor Heinicke is providing a ray of hope.
However, that ray of hope might not be from winning games.
While the Commanders’ season seems long gone, Heinicke is cracking jokes over becoming starting QB again.
So what is the Commanders QB saying that people are finding so funny?
Heinicke Jokes About Going From “Under The Radar” To Being A Starter
Being a starting QB in the NFL brings with it some good and annoying things, according to Heinicke.
#Commanders QB Taylor Heinicke says there’s good and bad from going to an unknown player to a “recognized” player.

While he “might get a meal for free” as the starting QB, the recognition also brings with it fans wanting pictures with him.
However, the joking is helping him lighten the mood in Washington, as the team is 2-4 going into Week 7.
With his first start to 2022, he faces the Green Bay Packers.
While the Packers aren’t playing like championship contenders, their defense can cause issues in the backfield.
If Heinicke wants his 2022 season to start off right, he needs to leave the jokes at the podium.
Can Heinicke Turn Around The Commanders Joke Of A Season?
With Carson Wentz out for four to six weeks, this is Heinicke’s team to lead.
However, can he get some much-needed wins to turn the Commanders from a joke of a team into contenders?
While he’s shown flashes of greatness as the Commanders’ QB, their schedule is extremely tough.
Over the next six weeks, they face five teams who are at .500 or higher for the season.
With too tough of a schedule, the joke might be on Heinicke as he leads the Commanders this season.
