During the last few days, a game has spread all over Twitter.
The user has to quote a tweet stating their favorite player of all time, a player they dislike, a player that grew on them, the most overrated and underrated player, and the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time).
As you can imagine, quite a few members of the Houston Astros showed up in the disliked and overrated players.
It stems from the 2017 sign-stealing scandal, a complex scheme aided by video cameras and trash cans to relay catcher signs to their hitters.
The franchise was punished for it, although whether or not it was harsh enough remains up for discussion.
The players, however, are still paying a social tax both around the league and, especially, among fans.
Some fans just won’t forgive them for what they did, especially supporters of the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, because they were eliminated in succession during the Astros’ 2017 postseason run.
Steven Souza Defends Astros Players
However, as MLB outfielder Steven Souza Jr. states, there are some good people among those Astros.
“I know you don’t wanna hear this but those Astro guys are actually some really good human beings over there,” he tweeted while quoting one of the responses of the game.

Recently, it was revealed by outfielder Josh Reddick (a member of the 2017 Astros) that Jose Altuve and himself didn’t participate in the scheme.
And those who participated and showed remorse also deserve respect: the particular action of stealing signs is not enough to judge whether a person is “good” or “bad.”
Altuve, for example, is widely respected around the league, or at least was before the scandal.
Souza, in addition, surely knows the 2017 Astros more than the average fan or media member.
It’s time to move on.
