It has been nearly four years since Kevin Durant left the Golden State Warriors after winning two championships.
Yet, fans are still waiting to see him play in front of them.
Due to multiple injuries and a global pandemic, Durant has yet to play a game for the Warriors’ home crowd.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr thinks it’s wild that Durant hasn’t performed at a full Warriors arena since 2019 and feels it would be a great experience for both the player and the fanbase.
He told ESPN’s Kendra Andrews, “I think our fans would give him a lot of love – the applause and the energy that he deserves for everything he did.”

Durant has played at the Chase Center once since leaving the Warriors but it was to an empty venue during the COVID pandemic.
Every other time his teams have squared off against the Warriors, Durant has been injured.
That was the case on Monday night.
Durant’s Phoenix Suns came to the Bay Area to play against the Warriors but Durant was still sidelined due to his latest left ankle injury.
The star player would definitely get a hero’s welcome because he is still well-regarded by Warriors fans.
He joined the team in the summer of 2016 and then led them to win the next two NBA Finals and captured Finals MVP for both of those victories.
After his third season with the Warriors, Durant left for the Brooklyn Nets.
Monday night was this season’s last chance for Durant to play for Warriors fans but there is a chance – albeit slight – that these two teams could meet again in the playoffs.
