There has been a lot of talk this offseason about where Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard should play next season.
Rumors have circulated that Lillard has even requested a trade out of Portland.
But Lillard himself has denied all these reports.
This hasn’t stopped the media from continuing to theorize where the six-time could land in the future.
Lillard to the Knicks?
ESPN’s first take host Stephen A. Smith has been particularly invested in Damian Lillard this offseason.
Lillard continues to be one of the most talked about players on the show.
Smith recently appeared on Sirius XM radio and made a surprising revelation about Lillard’s desired destination.
“If [Damian Lillard] were to get traded from Portland, New York Knicks would be his number one destination,” Smith said on the show.

Obviously, there is still a lot of offseason left and anything can happen before the start of the season.
But, this is worth paying attention to as Lillard is the type of player that would certainly be a box office hit in the Garden.
He could also lure other stars to New York in the near distant future such as Jayson Tatum or Joel Embiid.
Smith has a history of being shaky with his predictions, but spoke confidently with his information on Lillard.
However, many are still not convinced there is any merit to Smith’s story.
