With two decades in the books and four NBA titles won, superstar forward LeBron James has had an incredible career in the league with some unforgettable memories made during his stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers.
As James heads into the twilight of his Hall-of-Fame-caliber career in the NBA, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith reflected on the career of the NBA’s All-Time Leading Scorer and tried to figure out which team was his best team throughout his 20 seasons.
Ultimately, Smith believes that James’ best team was the one that beat the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals in 2013, with Ray Allen hitting one of the most clutch three-pointers in league history via First Take.

That year, the Heat had a legitimate superteam, with James leading the way alongside fellow superstars Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Allen.
Miami won 66 games during the regular season that year before heading into the NBA playoffs as the team to beat in the Eastern Conference, with the matchup with the Spurs in the Finals seeming inevitable, and they were clearly the two best teams in the league.
The Spurs were equally as stacked and talented, with Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili leading the charge for arguably one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time in Gregg Popovich.
Despite putting up a valiant effort in the Finals, the Spurs fell to the Heat in seven games in a Finals matchup, which will go down as one of the greatest in the history of the NBA.
