The National Basketball Association continues to try and find ways to save All-Star Weekend, but it seems like this isn’t fixable anymore.
Unless you’re ten years old or less, the All-Star Game has become a snoozefest.
There’s absolutely no intensity, no defense, and no desire to compete whatsoever.
Of course, it’s always cool to watch superstars dunking and all, but maybe they should take place in the Slam Dunk contest instead.
But the most prominent names in the game have decided not to partake in that event to protect their bodies, barely playing in the three-point contest and the incredibly boring skills challenge.
It’s come to the point where the league’s Rising Star games have become way more competitive and interesting than the actual All-Star Game.
That’s why ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith put the players on blast for their evident lack of effort yet again.
There was no effort put out last night… it reeks of a level of arrogance. pic.twitter.com/QeGSA8w43Q

Denver Nuggets coach Mike Malone stated that the game featured the worst kind of basketball possible, while Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown called it a glorified layup line.
Jayson Tatum’s 55-point explosion was one for the ages, and it was nice to see someone actually caring and trying to put on a show for the thousands of fans in attendance.
But the entire weekend — and the All-Star Game as a whole — has become worse as the years go by, and it’ll be up to the players to make it interesting and something to actually look forward to again, but that’s not likely to happen any time soon, if ever.
