The San Francisco 49ers are experiencing trouble on offense.
They thought Trey Lance was the answer after trading up for him in last season’s draft.
But he struggled during his two games as a starter in 2022 before suffering a season-ending injury.
Unfortunately, Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t much help either, as ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith pointed out.
I feel so bad for @49ers coach Kyle Shannahan. I’m sorry, but Jimmy G just ain’t the answer. The interception. The sack. As AWFUL as @Broncos offense is right now, they still couldn’t win.

Smith tweeted, “I feel so bad for @49ers coach Kyle Shannahan. I’m sorry, but Jimmy G just ain’t the answer. The interception. The sack. As AWFUL as @Broncos offense is right now, they still couldn’t win.”
The 49ers lost to the Denver Broncos, 11-10.
Russell Wilson didn’t have a great game either, with 20 completions for 184 yards.
However, Garoppolo and the Niners couldn’t deliver the finishing blow to get their second win in three games.
Worst yet, the veteran quarterback ran out of bounds for a safety.
The Niners could have won the game if not for that blunder.
Garoppolo finished with 18 completions for 211 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
No Way Out For The 49ers
Garoppolo could have been on his way to the Washington Commanders if not for the surgery on his injured shoulder.
But now, they have limited options at quarterback with Lance out for the season.
Brock Purdy is the only other active quarterback on their roster, and there’s little chance the 49ers will go with him.
Therefore, San Francisco will stick it out with Garoppolo, hoping he doesn’t re-injure his shoulder.
Likewise, Mike McDaniel’s departure isn’t looking good for the Niners.
The Miami Dolphins are the only undefeated team left in the league, while the 49ers are struggling to defeat another struggling squad like the Broncos.
The 49ers are hoping to bounce back in Week 4 in an NFC Championship Game rematch against the Los Angeles Rams.
